BelitongToday, Tanjungpandan – Some of 2023 ASEAN High Level Task Force on Economic Integration (HLTF-EI) delegates have arrived in Belitung Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands Province, Tuesday morning.
“Yes, today a number of ASEAN HLTF-EI delegates have began arriving in Belitung,” said Vice Regent of Belitung, Isyak Meirobie, Tuesday (2/28).
2023 ASEAN HLTF-EI is an economic task force meeting of ASEAN countries that takes place in Belitung on March 1-3.
Isyak Meirobie welcomed the 2023 ASEAN HLTF-EI delegates at the arrival terminal of HAS Hanandjoeddin Belitung International Airport.
According to him, the delegates who have arrived on Tuesday (2/28) were Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines, Laos, Malaysia, Cambodia, and Vietnam.
“Then a delegation from the ASEAN Secretariat and the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN (ERIA) organization also arrived,” he said.
He said, in addition to participating in ASEAN HLTF-EI 2023 meetings, delegates would also carry out activities outside the agenda.
“Like for their time to traveling, what we offer is “Island Hopping” because their time is limited,” he said.
Isyak hoped that the 2023 ASEAN HLTF-EI meeting will bring Belitung’s good name to the international arena.
“So as to convince the central government that Belitung is indeed suitable to be an international meeting venue,” he said.
He hoped that this activity can improve the community’s economy and open up investment opportunities for the region.
“Then for the airport, we also hope to reopen international routes and build a new terminal,” he remarked. (Angga)
