BelitongToday, Tanjungpandan – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs held an activity entitled “ASEAN Goes to School” in Belitung Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
The event took place at Rimba Alam Bahagia, Kacang Butor Village, Badau, Saturday (3/18).
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs as the organizer of the ASEAN HLTF-ACV 2023 event in Belitung on March 19-20, chose Rimba Alam Bahagia as the location for the implementation of “ASEAN Goes to School”.
About 50 students from Sekolah Keluarga Universal and 26 students from the 7 State Elementary School Badau, attended the event.
Coordinator of Political Functions, Directorate of ASEAN Political and Security Cooperation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Muhammad Al Aula told BelitongToday that the “ASEAN Goes to School” activity aimed to introduce ASEAN to students.
“The purpose of ‘ASEAN Goes to School’ is to introduce ASEAN in more detail to children,” he explained.
In addition, the activity also aimed to better understand the functions and benefits of ASEAN organization. To explain that ASEAN as a forum for the unity of countries in the Southeast Asian region.
“Moreover, ASEAN will now enter its 57th year,” he said.
He admitted that the students followed the “ASEAN Goes to School” activity very well. The students listened to the history of the establishment of ASEAN and asked questions related to ASEAN.
“The children’s response is very good and interactive in asking questions and listening. They wanted to know anything related to ASEAN, so it was really extraordinary,” he concluded. (Mg2)
