BelitongToday, Tanjungpandan – The Education and Culture Department (Dinas Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan/Disdikbud) of Belitung Regency, prohibited students to bring “latto-latto” to school for they are afraid it will interfere teaching and learning activities.
“We urge students not to bring lato-lato to school,” said the Head of the Belitung Education and Culture Department, Soebagio, Monday (1/9).
Soebagio conveyed this since there are many children play latto-latto nowadays.
The Belitung Education and Culture Department has actually not issued an official circular regarding the appeal not to bring “latto-latto”.
However, explained Seobagio, this appeal was only delivered verbally to school principals and teachers.
“At school, students must focus on studying and not get distracted by playing latto-latto,” he added.
Even so, Soebagio assessed, playing “latto-latto” has also positive effects on children, such as training concentration and coordination of movements.
The “latto-latto” game also reduces children’s addiction to playing smartphones.
“Nevertheless, this game must remain under parental supervision,” he stated. (Nazriel)
