BelitongToday, Tanjungpandan – Representative of Bank Indonesia in Bangka Belitung Islands Province inaugurated the Hatta traditional market in Tanjungpandan, Belitung Regency as healthy, innovative, and safe to use QRIS (SIAP QRIS).
Head of Deputy Representative of Bank Indonesia in Bangka Belitung Islands Province, Agus Taufik said this inaugurated was carried out to encourage the acceleration and expansion of using QRIS in traditonal market.
“We, together with the Ministry of Trade, encourage the using of QRIS that made easier for any payment here in traditional market,” said Agus, Wednesday (10/5).
According to him, COVID-19 pandemic affects not only in health aspect but also in economy aspect, especially small and medium industry because of social restrictions.
However, he also said that pandemic taught people to build new positive habit or be capable to adapt the digital era, including transactional purpose.
“This implementation of SIAP QRIS at Hatta Traditional Market in Tanjungpandan is hand in hand with Trade Office of Belitung Regency and also our strategist partners, which are banks here,” Agus said.
He added, QRIS is a digital method to make any payment just by using their cellphone. QRIS gives convenience in payment aspect to the seller, such as each transaction will be recorded and the money will go directly in to the account.
“The sellers won’t need to put on the change again since our transaction is cashless. It will also minimize criminal risks like theft and counterfeit money circulation,” he said.
Agus stated, the using of QRIS will build a good track record for seller to consideration if they need some loan from bank in the future.
“Just in case if some time they need loan like community loan or Small Medium Enterprise financing, we can track their transaction in QRIS database for consideration of approval,” Agus said. (freelancer)
