BelitongToday, Tanjungpandan – Vice Regent of Belitung, Isyak Meirobie, chaired the preparation meeting for the implementation of the High Level Task Force on ASEAN Community Post Vision 2025 event.
The meeting took place at the Belitung Regency Government Conference Room, Friday (3/10).
Isyak explained, after successfully hosting the ASEAN HLTF-EI, Belitung is now being trusted again to host the 7th ASEAN HLTF-ACV meeting on March 19-20.
“Unlike ASEAN HLTF-EI by the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy, this event is organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Thus, we all handle it up to the LO (Liaison Officer) level,” said the Vice Regent.
Isyak said that the the 7th ASEAN HLTF-ACV delegates would start arriving in Belitung on March 18.
While the meeting activities or meetings of the delegates would take place on March 19-20.
“It is predicted that the meeting will be attended by 75-100 people. The meeting will still be attended by 10 ASEAN countries plus one Timor Leste,” he explained.
He explained that the scope of the implementation of the ASEAN HLTF-ACV was higher than the previous ASEAN HLTF-EI.
However, Belitung services must be the same because this is an international level activity.
“The first day on March 19, from morning until dinner at Sheraton, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs handles it. The second day on the 20th after the closing meeting lunch the Belitung Regional Government handles. Lunch at the Tanjung Kelayang pavilion, then for dinner the provincial government, will handle it,” he said.
Related to the security of the delegates, they would coordinate with security elements both from the Police and the TNI.
“Security for the airport and Sheraton venues, but for tourist attractions such as geoparks or hopping islands, we will also prepare for it,” Isyak remarked. (Ferdy)
