BelitongToday, Tanjungpandan – Belitung Vice Regent Isyak Meirobie said Belitung’s preparation to host the High-Level Task Force on ASEAN Economic Integration (HLTF-EI) meeting has reached 99 percent.
“The readiness is 99 percent, we have prepared technical factors, security, comfort, and coordination,” Isyak said on Monday (2/27).
According to Isyak, on Tuesday (28/2) many delegations will arrive, namely Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, ASEAN Secretariat, Eria Organization, Laos, Malaysia, Cambodia, and Vietnam.
Furthermore, on Wednesday (1/3) the delegations of Myanmar, Brunei Darusalam, ASEAN Secretariat, Thailand, and Indonesia arrived in Belitung.
“We will welcome them like the G20, although the level is smaller, the hospitality must be the same,” he explained.
Thus, Isyak added, the service for ASEAN delegates is the same as the G20, so it is the same and they will give the best.
“We don’t want to differentiate the scale, so the service is the same, we will give the best,” he said.
Then Isyak explained, they would also offer another agenda besides the implementation of the meeting, namely “Hopping Island”.
“Their time is limited, so we only offer Hopping Island, because the agenda is March 1 to 3. On the 3rd afternoon some have gone home, and on the 4th all have gone home,” he explained.
Furthermore, on March 20 there will be another High-Level Task Force meeting in the non-economic field.
Therefore, Isyak hoped Belitung will have more trust from international public that Belitung is suitable to hold international event.
“We hope that this activity will have a positive effect on the economy in Belitung,” he remarked. (Adoy).
