BelitongToday, Tanjungpandan – The Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Indonesia, Muzzafar S. Abduazimov, hopes that the direct flight from Uzbekistan to Indonesia by Uzbekistan Airways can increase the flow of Indonesian tourists visiting Uzbekistan.
Uzbekistan Airways serves direct flights from Uzbekistan to Indonesia once a week on Wednesdays.
Muzzafar said, since the direct flight opened in April, Indonesian citizens are given a 30-day visa-free facility while in Uzbekistan.
“Likewise, Uzbekistan citizens have the facility of Visa on Arrival in Indonesia,” he said.
He explained, currently Uzbekistan is focusing on pilgrimage tourism. This is because Uzbekistan is the capital of Islamic scholars.
“Like Ibn Sina, Imam Al-Bukhari, Imam At-Tirmizi, Abu Manshur Al-Maturidi, and Muhammad bin Musa Al-khawarizmi. Alternatively, Indonesian tourists can go to other destinations,” he explained.
Uzbekistan is famous as a country that is important for the History of Islamic Civilization, one of which is the city of Bukhara.
