*Special report on 4 years leadership of Sahani Saleh and Isyak Meirobie
BelitongToday, Tanjungpandan – Belitung Regent Sahani Saleh and Vice Regent Isyak Meirobie will focus on working on the progress of the tourism and MSME sector in 2023 which will be the last year of their leadership.
This was conveyed by the Regent of Belitung, Sahani Saleh when interviewed by media after the four-year thanksgiving event for Sahani-Isyak’s leadership in the Tugu Satam Roundabout area, Saturday (31/12) afternoon.
“In 2023, we will continue to improve the quality of MSMEs and tourism,” he said.
Sanem, the nickname for the Regent of Belitung, explained that the development of the MSME and tourism sectors was an instruction from the central government to revive the people’s economy after the slump due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“In accordance with the policy of the central government next year we will revive the community’s economic downturn by increasing the quality of MSMEs and tourism,” he explained.
The regent said that throughout 2022 development in Belitung Regency was going quite well in a number of sectors.
This achievement, he continued, was presented statistically in the thanksgiving event for the four years of their leadership.
“Even though we are still facing the problem of the corona virus (Covid-19),” he explained.
However, development and service to the community continues to move as evidenced by the myriad achievements that have been achieved by the Belitung regional government.
“We have succeeded in dealing with the Covid-19 problem and are currently continuing to promote tourism,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Vice Regent of Belitung, Isyak Meirobie said that 2022 was a collaborative year under their leadership.
“2022 is the year of working with all stakeholders,” he explained in his remarks at the four-year thanksgiving event for Sahani-Isyak’s leadership.
Isyak explained that a number of development achievements in 2022 were marked, among others, by the increase in the Belitung Human Development Index (IPM) which increased by 73.38 from the previous year’s 72.57.
Then, the Life Expectancy in Belitung is getting longer from 71.10 years to 71.31 years.
Isyak added that the average length of schooling in Belitung has increased from 8.47 years to 8.74 years.
“And the dropout rate of 138.39 percent was achieved from the target,” he said
Meanwhile, the growth of developed villages is increasing from 29 to 37 developed villages.
“There are still eight stunting villages remaining and the prevalence of stunting is below 14 percent. The poverty rate has decreased from 7.15 percent to 6.45 percent,” he explained.
In addition, Belitung has also successfully held international activities such as the G20 Development Ministreal Meeting (DMM), the Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil Dialogue (ISPO), and the 2022 World Ocean Assessment (WOA).
Isyak also hoped that all parties can support them in the fifth year of his leadership with Belitung Regent Sahani Saleh.
