BelitongToday, Dendang – ISPO (Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil) activities have entered their second day, the ISPO delegates were continuing their activity agenda. The second day’s activities were in the form of an ISPO dialogue which took place at the ANJ Learning Center, PT SMM (ANJ Group), Jangkang Village, Dendang District, East Belitung, on Thursday (11/24) morning. The activity was attended by the Regent of East Belitung, President Director of PT. SMM, Director of Trade, Industry, Commodities, and Intellectual Property of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Antonius Tri Yudiantoro, Ambassadors and representatives of countries participating in the ISPO meeting.
The Regent of East Belitung, Burhanudin in his remarks said that the purpose of the ISPO dialogue was in the context of preserving environmentally friendly natural resources, especially oil palm plantations.
“The goal of ISPO is to increase palm oil productivity in a sustainable manner. Furthermore, it is also a commitment to preserving natural resources that are environmentally friendly,” he said.
The Regent added, it is expected that ISPO can increase the competitiveness of Indonesian palm oil, especially palm oil fron East Belitung in the international arena.
“The hope is that with the ISPO, Indonesian palm oil products, especially from East Belitung, can compete on the international stage and can contribute to reducing the current environmental problems,” he said.
The activity continued with the presentation of placards to ISPO delegates from Europe and America by the Regent of East Belitung, President Director of PT. SMM, and other guests.
The activity followed by a group photo session, lunch, and ended with a tour of palm plantations and processing, and also a visit to the ANJ Group Biogas Plant. (Mg1)
